Chair of Governors

I grew up in Hertfordshire but I have lived in several areas of the country before settling down in Surrey with my husband seventeen years ago.  I worked for a major high street bank for twenty eight years where I held a variety of leadership and management roles.  I have two children who are now in years 11 and 10 at Tomlinscote.  Whilst at Ravenscote, I really appreciated the wide range of opportunities they were offered.  I was also a very active member of the PTA and a parent helper. When the children were young I took a career break before returning to work locally. I passed my bookkeeping and certificate accounting exams and I became an accredited clerk to the governors for a Hampshire school before taking up the position of Borough Administrator at Surrey County Council Youth Services and then later as a school bursar.  I am currently studying for my CIPD (Personnel) qualification and and on the local CIPD committee.

I am the Chair of Governors, Chair  of the Buildings and Finance committee and sit on the Personnel committee. I am very passionate about education and I firmly believe that every child has the right to achieve their potential and that their school has the duty to facilitate that process.  I am delighted to be able to work with a successful and committed team of staff and governors at this outstanding school.

I’m married with two children and I grew up in Camberley where I enjoyed attending Ravenscote as a youngster as well as the many firework displays since leaving!  It was always a favourite school of mine and I was delighted when both my son and daughter were able to attend and benefit as well.

Primarily based in Staines, I have worked in the Energy sector for 28 years, qualifying as a chartered management accountant in 1996 and undertaking a number of Finance Manager Roles across the business since then.

I’m delighted to be able to support the great work of the school as a Governor of the Buildings and Finance committee. I was delighted to be asked to be a Governor of Ravenscote at the end of 2016.
I have lived in Heatherside, Camberley for over 20 years, during which time my children have attended Heather Ridge, Ravenscote and Tomlinscote Schools.  Throughout this time, I have chosen to take an active role by helping within the schools when I could, being an active member of the PTA’s and a 4 year term as a Parent Governor (Secondary School Level).
I very much believe that every child matters.  Everyone deserves  safe and supportive learning environment, with the opportunity to realise their value, and encouragement to achieve their potential.

Amy Wells BA (Hons) - Assistant Headteacher - Specialist Leader in Education (Mathematics)

Staff Governor
SEND Governor
I was born in Surrey and have lived within 10 miles of Ravenscote my whole life - apart from when I studied at Canterbury Christ Church University in Kent for 3 years. Outside of education, my passions include skiing, football and cheerleading. I knew I wanted to be a teacher from the age of 14 when I carried out my first work experience in the primary school that I had once attended. Straight out of school at 18, I chose to study Primary Education with a specialism in Mathematics (a subject I am particularly enthusiastic about). Upon completing my degree in 2010 and achieving QTS,  I applied to teach at Ravenscote as a newly qualified teacher and have valued teaching here ever since. I love being a part of the Ravenscote community and am passionate to continue raising the standards of education for our children. Being a Governor adds an additional dimension for me to continue to have impact on the effective teaching of our pupils.

I was born in Frimley and have lived in Camberley my entire life. I attended local schools throughout my childhood and completed my BA degree in Education alongside working as a teaching assistant in a Berkshire school for 3 years. Following this, in 2014 I completed my teacher training in Surrey and this involved teaching at Ravenscote for a short while. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the school so I immediately applied for a teaching position! I joined Ravenscote in 2015 as a class teacher and I absolutely love working in such a wonderful community! I joined the Governing Body in November 2017 to enable me to have a greater impact on the education of our pupils.

Safeguarding Governor

I was born in Ruislip, moved to Frimley in 2001 and am a married mum of two boys.  I work as a Personal Assistant to the Group Design Director for the Glen Dimplex Group, and have been in this role for many years.  I currently work three days per week, which allows me the time and flexibility to support my children throughout their education.
My eldest attends Ravenscote School and is in Year 4, and my youngest is at Prior Heath and will hopefully join Ravenscote in September 2019.  Since being a parent at this school, I have thoroughly enjoyed helping and supporting the school at the various PTA organised events; I can always be relied upon to lend a hand if required!
I am delighted to be appointed as a Trust Governor and see the role as an opportunity to be part of a team who collectively have a huge impact on our children’s lives.  I believe, that with the help, support and commitment from us all, this will ensure that the school will continue to “Engage, Enrich and Excel”, and maintain it’s outstanding reputation within the community it serves.

Vice Chair Personnel

Although I was born in Frimley, I have lived all over the South of England, returning to Camberley a few years before my first child was born.
I started my career in restaurant management, but have worked within Human Resources now for 14 years and recently launched my own HR consultancy business which has given me the perfect work-life balance. I studied for my professional qualifications at Farnborough College of Technology and I am a Chartered member of the CIPD.
With my eldest currently in year 6 at Ravenscote and my youngest two approaching school age, I have a keen interest in securing a positive experience for them all. We have had a wonderful journey through primary education in the area so far and I am honoured to be a part of ensuring that this continues.
My whole family have thoroughly enjoyed all of our experience of Ravenscote to date and I look forward to learning more about how the school operates from the inside, whilst helping to maintain the high standards for which it has become renowned.

Chair Children & Learning

I grew up in Leicester and have lived in Frimley for over 10 years. I studied at the University of Surrey for my BSC Hons in Chemistry and Management and MSC in Environmental Strategy. I am married, have two girls and we enjoy spending time as a family. In my spare time I enjoy cooking, baking, shopping, travelling and meeting new people through work and social settings.

I am delighted to be an Associate Governor at Ravenscote School and offer my skills to such a well renowned school. To be able to help in education is a real privilege. Children are a very important part of society, so the environment in which they learn, is key.

I run my own business. My job requires me to apply strict regulations but also pragmatism and logic to everything I do for my clients and teams. Through this I have learnt that being organised and efficient is key. However, relationships, awareness of our surroundings and the environment in which we work and play, are equally important. I would like to share these skills and provide that balanced approach by helping and supporting the school in a way that adds value so that it can remain an outstanding school.
