Chair of Governors (Non-staff Governor)
Key responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Chair of Governors is to lead the Full Governing Board, attend a weekly meeting with Head Teacher and county Chair of Governor meetings. They will also be expected to draw up agendas with the Head Teacher for Full Governing Board meetings and submit questions 24 hours prior to meeting.

The responsibilities of the Vice Chair is to stand in when the Chair of Governors is unavailable and carry out an induction for any new governor.

Vulnerable Learners Governor
Key responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Vulnerable Learners Governor is to work with Inclusion Assistant Head Teacher for a full understanding of inclusion at Ravenscote.

SEND Governor
Key responsibilities
The responsibilities of the SEND Governor is to meet with the Inclusion Assistant Head Teacher twice a year and attend training specific to Special Educational Needs. They will also be required to read and feedback SEN subject report to the Full Governing Board.

Safeguarding Governor
Key responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Safeguarding Governor is to liaise termly with the Designated Safeguarding Lead and Inclusion Assistant Head Teacher. They will be required to ensure the Safeguarding Policy is the most up to date and training records are kept accurate. They will also be expected to report termly at the Full Governing Board meeting on Child Protection either verbally or written and ensure safeguarding checks are carried out and submit an annual report for Safeguarding to the Full Governing Board.

Sustainability and Climate Change Governor
Key responsibilities
Champion sustainability and climate education across the school, supporting the integration of environmental themes into the Connected Curriculum. Monitor and encourage eco-friendly practices (energy, waste, resources). Liaise with staff and children to promote climate action initiatives. Report to the Local Advisory Committee on progress and priorities.

Key responsibilities
Provide strategic oversight of digital learning and cybersecurity. Ensure online safety, data protection and acceptable use policies meet statutory requirements. Champion safe and effective use of technology to enhance teaching and learning. Monitor cyber risks and support the school’s response to incidents and emerging threats.

Key responsibilities
Provides strategic oversight of the Connected Curriculum, ensuring it is ambitious, well-sequenced, inclusive and aligned with national requirements. Holds leaders to account for standards, progress and outcomes. Monitors curriculum impact through data, visits and reports whilst supporting continuous improvement and maintaining clear governance boundaries.

Wellbeing Governor
Key responsibilities
Champion child and staff wellbeing, including mental health. Monitor health & safety policies, compliance and risk management. Ensure wellbeing and H&S practices meet statutory requirements. Review incidents, concerns and wellbeing data; challenge and support leaders. Act as a link between governors and school leaders on wellbeing and safety matters.
