Online Safety in the Curriculum
Pupils today are growing up in an increasingly complex world, where their lives are seamlessly interwoven with technology. This digital landscape offers numerous opportunities for learning and creativity; however, it also presents challenges and risks that must be addressed.
At Ravenscote, we prioritise the safety and wellbeing of our students, both offline and online and we are dedicated to equipping our pupils with the skills needed to navigate the internet safely and responsibly, this is reflected in our robust approach to online safety education.
To do this, we adopt a whole school approach to online safety, ensuring that it is firmly embedded across the curriculum. We believe that online safety cannot be confined to isolated lessons but must be integrated into daily learning experiences.
We prioritise the core principles of online safety, focusing on critical thinking, empathy, and respect in digital communications. By encouraging pupils to assess information critically, we empower them to make informed decisions regarding their online engagement and preparing them to embrace the opportunities of the digital world while remaining vigilant and responsible.
