Year 3 Admissions September 2021
Dear Parents and Carers of Year 2 children,
We hope that you are well and your Year 2 child has settled back into school life seamlessly.
You will be aware that from Monday 2nd November 2020, you will be able to apply for your child’s Year 3 place at the schools of your choice, ready for September 2021.
Under normal circumstances, we would host an information evening for parents and carers, where we would share with you more information about our school and give you a feel for day to day life at Ravenscote. Within current health and safety guidelines, we are saddened that we are unable to invite families into school for the information evening or for tours to see our school in action.
There is truly no replacement for being able to visit a school, to see how a school makes you and your child feel, to meet the team and to be amongst the children learning. However, here on our website, you will be able to see various videos and documents to support you in your decision making, during these strange times.
Firstly, you will see our ‘Introduction to Ravenscote Junior School’ video. This will provide you with an insight into learning at Ravenscote and a ‘virtual tour’ of our school and school grounds.
You will also see the ‘Information for Prospective Parents’ video (replacing the information evening). If you have any questions following watching this, please don’t hesitate to email me and we can arrange a phone call or Zoom.
It is also worth hearing from some of the stakeholders in the school, so take a moment to watch the 'Our Views' video, where you will hear from a parent, a child and a couple of staff members.
Finally, we have created an ‘Interactive Map’ where you can click on different rooms in the school to spend more time looking around our school site.
We hope that these videos provide you with the information all parents and carers look for when choosing the right school for their child. We do encourage families to look at different schools (virtually), to make the best decision for your children in the next steps of their educational journey. In the meantime, please follow us on Twitter @ Ravenscote to keep up with day to day Ravenscote life!
As a parent, I know how important and emotive this decision is (as getting the best for your child is a non-negotiable). It is essential that you have access to all the information you need to make the best decision for your child. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
